Orion I think is a fluke, but it's possible Ride the Lightning is. They didn't invent either term, however. Both were common enough before Metallica came along.

the term "ride the lightning" is not some old phrase as some may be lead to believe. No, Mettallica originated this phrase and movies like The Green Mile ("that 'ole boy is gonna ride the lightening for killin that man") and games like Guild Wars are blatantly refrencing metallica. its obvious too becuase of all the other clues, such as the reference to mettalica song "orion" which some astute scholar already pointed out, or one that you guys have missed the elite skill "escape" (a song on the RtL album) again a blatant reference!


but you know what may really suprise you is that God is a mettalica fan! just read the Bible! its chock full of references to mettalica song titles and lyrics! i know some of you are going to say its the other way around since the Bible came first, but dont be naive! God is omniscent and he knew that metallica was going to write those lyrics before they even did so and thats why he references them in the Bible so much!

Mettalica RULES! and even God and Anet know iT!!!

(disclaimer: in case its not obvious this post is written in a satirical tone and not meant to offend christians, mettalica fans, and/or anet employees. )

...oh and sorry for getting off topic but i believe the thread was seriously derailed long before my post

I have to admit Ride The Lightning is strange elite skill for ele but what will you say about E/A with Ride The Lightning+Return?

When I saw this skill, I fell in love with Anet. If they make "And Justice For All!", or even "Justice For All!" a Warrior shout, they will have my vote for champions of everything.

Ride the Lightning would be a fun skill to use. I can't wait to use it. Here's a build I quickly thought up involving the skill:
